Man ohh Man it's nearly been 7 months since the release of DawnTrail and nearly 2 1/2 months since 7.1.

As always, I am super, super excited, and here is something interesting from the Quazi Podcast on his Quazi FFXIV channel.

Arthurs suggests that Yoshi-P created Dawntrail 7.0 and onwards as a next step to whatever that is maybe a new 3.0 project called Rapture?

Finally, the most interesting part is that Arthurs said that he believes that the East Asian player base at Tonberry is already dead... lmao.

It's always good to hear people still care about FFXIV. Idk this game was a huge part of my formative years as an adult. So maybe I'm just sad to see it be like that. Get that we can't get instant changes - but I think some form of communication about the recent sentiment will be helpful, in restoring some faith amongst players.

Yeah, the radio silence has been awkward af And then there is also that interview that said "Oh we expected this"

Yeah that was damaging if he said something like "We hear you, we might have to take a different route for MSQs for 8.0 - please be patient"

I saw that and I went well, I guess we're doomed.That is already at least acknowledging - ok they will change. Not now, but ok at least I know there's reason to have hope for 8.0 now I don't even know if they hear what people are saying lol. Maybe the JP folks are content with it - so game on as usual.

Hmmm idk if they are content, I think it is more like JP still playing it to support the company out of obligation or something.

I just hope tomorrow we get something good on PLL. Doesn't have to be job balancing (we need to fix pic the), any content update will just give us news on the game and what's gonna happen.

For MMOS there's very little out there as an alternative for those who want that kind of experience. Overall I think MMOS are not in a good place and never have been (esp when you go read the Reddit space for MMORPGs hahaha). [I have commentary about Throne and Liberty to come back to someday. It's new and dying. Server merges happening.]

I do see people always complain about live service games though and kind of bemused to watch Honkai Star Rail having that right now. Got a new "world" to explore (which also will patch out over the next year) and people are bored. Yet people also complain they want to skip stories while others are complaining about lazy story approaches. It's a lot of conflicting and confusing feedback. And yet others also say "I don't think any game can provide the constant entertainment people want ." Games are not designed for 24/7 escapism. They are produced on a schedule just like any work product.

That said, there's certainly very little keeping me engaged in FFXIV right now except the past ten years. I'm living off the fumes of good and bad times and having FFXIV be my primary daily entertainment. Now I log in to make sure my house is ok, not even bothering with weeklies since I"'m only leveling specific jobs, and the event was 10 minutes long.

Something I read about how there was a JP line that snuck in on an English translation in the game they were watertight with QA in the past

there are also no voiced English pieces in this patch because of strike-related issues but it's certain characters only (but I listen in JP )

HSR takes in millions monthly so yeah, people have skin in the game. They're one of the biggest live service games Regarding playing more, usually people wait for several patches to accumulate to then do a whole bunch. I would not tell people to sub for this patch alone. I'd wait for the PLL to see if it's enough to push you into coming back. If not, then just wait for more news. Or expansion.

Nods. I sometimes tell myself okay maybe the quality drop is - CBU3 moving to a brand new thing. Ship always did tease he has one more game in him. Idk a very strong copium I'm inhaling now lol. Realistically don't see SE allowing them to develop a new MMO$$$$

I think a new MMO is a bad idea but live service RPG would be smarter. But I do think CBU3 is distracted with something else The quality of updates is also very think some are quite short.

Nods. It's the only explanation I can think of - they haven't changed the personnel in CBU3 that drastically.

Square losing so much money last year also has resulted in aggressive music merchandising and deployment they said they would release some of the 16 staff to other projects they didn't come back to 14 I think they're going to announce another game.

I would have thought a bad financial year would drive them to take their cash cow 14 more seriously though - but that's just odd. I hope it's an announcement.

What gets me about Square is they don’t even deploy proper surveys in their patches using feedback from a forum that most people don’t use as well as social media which concentrates polarized viewpoints usually just weird. Mihoyo does surveys regularly although they make us use links which could be dangerous. But sometimes we text with NPCs in the game to also answer questions, I just don’t understand how any corporate entity isn’t doing more customer feedback Anyways love the housing announcement from Blizzard. shots fired

DT feels like two different expansions butchered into one.

I appreciate content creators talking about it. I don't like the idea of "can't talk about it or we're not going to the media tour again", and I hope that isn't true and we get to see you both in the next one. IMO they did sorta "address" it, by NOT addressing it. The fact that the MSQ writer is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND in any community events tells me a lot. Remember after Shadowbringers when they bought Ishikawa to PAX? When they came to PAX after DT they left the MSQ writer at home. IMO they are WELL aware of just how much we did not enjoy the DT MSQ.

Patch 7.2

The Newest Title for Patch 7.2. Patch 7.2 will be released sometime around late March, so expect it to be released around March 18 or 25. Patch 7.18 will be released on the 25th of February and will lift restrictions for weekly tomes and savage.
