2026 is going to be a challenging year for some, while for others, it won't be so significant. But there are things that you may need right now or later for 2026. With the world's resources running out and how things are going, this post will give you an idea of what you need for 2026.
It's important to know that power is essential for us all, and thanks to a large number of AI data centers sucking up all the juice from us. Electricity will get expensive. There are ways to do it.
Portable PowerStation, PowerBanks, and a Solar Panel
Having a power bank would help you get through a power outage. What you need depends on what you're going to use it for.
I am not a DIY builder for a solar power station, but purchasing a pre-built one from Precron, EcoFlow, BlueYeti, Anker, or even a DJI power station is a good choice.
I currently have a Pecron 1000 ELP 1800 watts, an Anker DC 300, and a Ugreen 25,000 mAh power bank for my cellphone.
For just phones 25,000 MAH from Anker or Ugreen
These will last you for 1 1/2 days. They really come in handy when you need them.
PowerStations
Buy the Second Gen 1000wh power station for beginners, and it is a good value. They have 2,000-watt inverters, meaning they can do microwaves, mini electric cooking stoves, or a Coffee maker. Despite having a larger inverter at 2000 watts, just know that 1020wh can only last you a day or so, depending on what you're going to use it for.
Most 1000wh power stations will cost you around 450 bucks.
Complicated math>?
Cellphone 1020/5-10 watts= around 1 1/2 week
Laptop 1020/45 or 60 watts=around 17 hours
TV 1020/120 =8.5 hours or so
microwave 1000 watts, maybe around 30 mins?
Electric stove 500-800 watts, maybe 1 hour?
2,000 Wh
If you have a little bit more money, 2000wh can help you so much, but they will cost you about nearly $800-1200
3000wh Powerstation
Most 3000W power stations, such as Anker or EcoFlow, will cost you around $ 1,800-$ 2,000.
The best price for a 3,000Wh power station comes from Pecron at 799.99.
For solar panels, It's best to get 200 watts; they will output at around 150-187 watts.
You could buy more up 400-800 watts of solar depending if your powerstation supports it.
For the budget, 100 watts that can charge your small power banks or a power station like an Anker DC 300, will overall charge at around 40-45 watts. 2-3 hours or soo if the battery is at 70%
The Summer is the best time to be outside and chill with a battery bank with a solar panel. While your stuff is charging from the solar panel, you get free energy and pay less on your electric bill. I am not saying you need to be van life, but you can do this outside your backyard if you own a home, or just chill at the park or outside your apartment.
You or I might need is an EMP bag or a EMP container.
Learn this about 3 years ago. An EMP bag is usually a container that will protect your electronic equipment from being damaged. For example, when a rocket shoots out into the air, it will blow up to a very, very high frequency that will shut down everything around the area. With an EMP bag, it will protect itself. They are very, very costly, so get the one that fits your needs.
Miscellaneous needs
Lighters or those magnesium fire starters, just in case you need to stay warm. Always have food and water ready, just in case of a disaster.
While on the subject of food, eat healthy!!!! Eat a lot of healthy stuff. Its kinda obvoius that the food you buy is not good for your body. And you know McDonald's costs the same as if you cooked at home lol.
As my mom said, if you don't have time since you're going in and out of work and can't cook, you need to, but if you have time to cook a little something for you and your family, do it!!
It saves you money and helps you eat healthier. Buy Veggies from your local farmers' market, May-Winter 2026
Always have cash with you whenever you can because if the computers are down, you wouldn't have a way to buy something with a card. So having cash, such as 100 dollars, in small bills, "$20."
I have naturally been using cash after COVID because I don't like debit card fees at all. And thanks to the self-checkout stands, I can use all my coins and cash and put them in the slots. I mostly used a debit card to pay for stuff that I need, such as internet, and for my website.
The Internet
Please download as many movies and tv shows as you can, since there is a Storage shortage in 2026. Just download as much as you can!!! And with how Internet ID is causing a lot of mass hysteria. Meaning, due to the censorship of information, and trying to maybe scan your face whenever you go through the web, you're more likely to enjoy content on an external device.
I remember in mid-2017 to mid-2018, there was a panic on the internet, and the end of everything restricted users' access to information that was once free. It led me and everyone on the Net to download everything that they could.
Thankfully, the US government overturned that decision, fired the FCC guy, and that media apocalypse was kinda over not until this summer, in August 2025, with the content face ID. That's why download everything. You can also get them on a DVD or Blu-ray, lol, it's up to you, lol.
NVIDIA Sucks!!!!
This year, I nearly bought an RTX 5070 lol However, my gut tells me to forget the upgrade. Because I don't expect myself to buy a new graphics card until it's broken. I would never upgrade to an Nvidia card since they are so freaking greedy and their GPUs are always exploding. I might upgrade to an AMD or intel GPU until my RTX 3060ti is broken.
As a gamer, though? Hmmm, as I grew mature through my 20's, I realized it doesn't matter what game you're playing, it doesn't matter if you have the most up-to-date console or computer hardware, it just doesn't matter at all. I couldn't care less about the big worries on hardware lol. as AI is taking over and making everything expensive.
It doesn't really make me mad, except that I value Storage more than a graphics card. Emulation is always the best place to be a gamer and a place to take your mind off things. Any game can be your soft spot. It doesn't matter if it's old and new. What matters is if you enjoy the game more than anything.
Summary
Get a power station for your needs, and with a Solar panel. Don't get the 500-800 watt options since right now a 1000wh is pretty cheap to buy at 349-450 dollars. If you have more money, get the 2,000 or 3,000 options. Or DIY yourself.
Get a 200-watt solar panel or more.
Have a EMP container
Eat healthy
Save your money.
Buy what you need, not what you don't need.
And download everything!!!!
For the gamers out there, save your money and enjoy the games you have.
