Suppose you have been following the Neocity drama for months and months. Then you know about sites being deleted and why they were deleted in the first place.
There is no warning on why they were deleted in the first place. Sure, we know we don't agree on Kyle's idea on AI,
But when this story got louder and louder, I checked my settings and wondered why the hell I don't see the 18+ button? Why don't I see it???
According to Reddit, apparently, if you can't see the 18+ checkbox, that means Neocities is already considering your website 18+, and you cannot uncheck it.
I don't know what that does to your visibility on the Neociy front page or anything on your Neocity profile. It doesn't have a search engine, just a history of when a site is updated and the Tags section when it was last updated.
I am just glad I have an HTML copy of my site, lol, if it is deleted by Kyle from Neocity.
It's as if Kyle somehow used an AI word-based scan to scan every single damn word on every website to check if a blog said F you, S.E>, X, and other lewd things.
What does 18+ NSFW defy as though?
1. I don't have lewd stuff?
2. I don't have Pornographic pics lol.
3. Or anything that I could consider 18+ lol?
But my site is kinda 18+ with bad words, but I never have Lewd stuff? Idk if it's because of Newjeans pics or something lol?? lmao. idk lmao... And yeah, there is no warning like hey, umm, you gotta check that 18+ check or something like that from an email lol?
Everything that I have said and written is mostly what a 15-year-old kid would be reading, and I would consider that normal.
I am not angry lol, but I find this very confusing with no added warning on TOS. Other Neocity users and I are so confused tbh. I am not willing to go to Nekoweb. There is a story that you can click on here to get a clear view of a user review of Nekoweb.
It's kinda sad that it had to go this way, like users gave up on the platform.
Besides listing me as 18+, there are two problems I have
There are so many dead sites. Some sites are just left undone and left there untouched. If I were Kyle, I would just send a warning through email like Hey, umm, user, you haven't updated your site in over 4 years, we might delete it?... That could be a bad idea lol.
For those doing a website, please update it!!! blog it every week, every month, every 3 months. Give me something to chew on.

Limit free users at 600MB lol.
The next problem is that the follow button is broken lol It's not that I care about it ;p. It just that the number goes up and down, maybe its gliched idk lol... Sometimes it's 52, then days later it's 54, and then 51, like maybe the cache needs to reload because of it being overloaded?.
The reason why I fell in love with Neocity is that it was an alternative to WordPress. Seeing other sites with these cool colors and simple designs made me want to have just that on a site. Instead of the clunky, click-based CMS, WordPress style.
The community of Neocities realigns my thoughts and my feelings. It's something I feel connected with. It's something that I said, " Wow, that's cool, " or " Wow, that's something I agree with.
Neocity is an overwhelming bubble with so many users ready to pop. And there are a couple of alternatives out there. Neko web obviously lol, Bearblog.dev, weblog. lol, or that other one that I don't remember, so maybe u do remember those as well lol..
Maybe drop the shard hosting and set up with a VPS or the Corporate Amazon server thing.
I just know it's gonna pop. Users are gonna leave, but I don't wanna leave
