#VideoGame Reviews

Concise description of lake photo for screen readers or if image fails to load.

A very good game with some minor flaws

In the Previews and Trailers, we are presented with a new character in RE9 and a returning character. They're pretty good, by the way. The Hype was worth the wait.

Please note you must be 18 or older to play Re9. If you can't play RE9, you can just watch A walk through of it and lore videos on YouTube to get a better understanding of RE9 and the rest of RE.

GamePlay

"I am playing this in casual mode,"Easy Mode."

Game play is Third-person or First-Person. You can choose to play either one. I did learn that when you play as Leon in Third-person and attach a scope, it will turn to first-person. So it's best to be unequipped if you find going to first-person when aiming annoys you.

Items are Craft-able and Throw-able. You can use items for your own advantage and could stealth your way.

I will speak more on the gameplay

Where should I play it?

The PC is the best Choice. I played this game on RTX 3060ti 32GB DDR4 on AMD Ryzen 5800x. My settings were set on DLSS and AMD Frame-Gen Low and High settings, and it ran on a locked 60FPS butter Smooth.

And no, I don't Use Ray Tracing. I don't see what benefits from using ray tracing lol..

SteamDeck is better than the Nintendo Switch!!!

On the Steam Deck, the setting is on low but locked on 45 FPS.

Nintendo Switch 2

Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch 2 is on 540P Docked and 360P on Handheld. The game dips down fast at 28 when heavy, but when you're in small places, it will run at 60 FPS on the Switch 2. There is a breakdown from Digital Foundry. It doesn't have what the Steam Deck does: "Locked 40-45 FPS Framerate. It's still an exceptional experience. I think the Japanese would enjoy it more on the Switch 2

PS5 Pro is good Regular PS5 is ok

Xbox Series X is just a PS5

Meanwhile, the Series S is a different story lol.The series S textures are at 540P but do hold a locked 60.

So Switch that has perfect textures 60-30FPS Vs Series S non-perfect textures with a higher Framerate lol..

You're not gonna lose anything from whatever you're gonna play with.

The Story of RE9

The story begins in 2026, where we see Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft. An FBI agent as the Data Analyst. However, her Boss tells her to go to the Redwood Hotel. It's the place where her mother passed away.

When we first enter the hotel, we go upstairs and suddenly flash back to 2018, when her mother was still alive. unbeknownst to the players.

Alyssa Ashcroft was the reporter in RE Outbreak. She also reported on the disappearance of those two girls in re7.

In the scene, they both received a random call. Her mother was paranoid to the point that they had to leave. She then hid the evidence behind this big protrusion in the main lobby of the hotel. In the logs, it's known that a Stalker was trailing them, who kept looking at her, so they had to move. By the end of that cut scene, we may assume that Grace's mother passed away at that moment, but maybe from a mysterious group not mentioned in the game.

Right after the flashback, Grace encounters an Infected, the same cop whom we met outside the hotel. After running away and grabbing the evidence, Grace ends up in a random room, and we soon find a mysterious villain sitting down on a seat, standing up, and telling her that he has finally found her, and knocks her out.

In the subtitles, a mysterious voice rings out and then reveals to us that Leon is here. We finally played Leon. I think it is quite Obvious that we were going to play as Leon since Capcom released a roman numeral 9 on the RE4 remake beginning stage. They didn't deny or answer the question. But we pretty much knew it was going to happen.

Leon is currently 49 years old, an old guy who can still kick ass. His Gameplay is really really good!!!

My Favorite quote is "You are a ignorant Fool

We then play as Grace.

So, for her game play, she can collect Blood and use an injector to take out a zombie stealthily. Ammo is scarce, so do whatever you can. to find scrap to craft items.

I heard that if you aggro the Screaming lady and the rest of those zombies, use the requiem and take them out all at once with a single bullet. For the big chef dude, you can try to take him out with an injector or leave it for Leon to takeout.

You must also collect coins to unlock 4 items that Grace needs. You can also collect the coins at the casino spinner thing.

Since I played this game casually, I am not sure if they come back up as the extra-powerful zombie. I am guessing only when Leon comes back. Or if you play in a harder difficulty mode. I do think that if you play the normal or Harder difficulty, some places are considered safe, but not when you're in that casino area, the chef or zombie might open that door. In casual mode, no monster leaps on your back in the casino area.

The objective is to collect 3 stones to get out by solving the moon sun crest puzzle. You must also collect those wrists to open level 1-3 doors. and also open a safe too to collect items. You will meet a girl who is blind.

The basement level is scary tbh lol.. Very complicated unless you see a walkthrough of it. It took me 2 days to let myself finish it as fast as I could. It's such a scary place lol.

After completing the Grace segment, the rest of the game goes to Leon.

I do agree that the Grace segment is pretty good and exciting, fresh with ideas and gameplay. The coins are somewhat of an afterthought, but they're only used for Grace. But you will find more pouches when you go further in her story.

Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center
Grace 80%

Leon 30%

Leon's segment is 90% action
Leon 80%

Grace 30%

Leons GamePlay

For Leon's segment, you kinda have to actually play RE2 or RE2 Remake to kinda understand the weight on Leon's mindset. On why this is an important mission. It's more action, like just as RE4 and a bit of RE6 action moments.

There is no Storage box in the Leon segment since you have a big box. You will also gain credits when you defeat a lot of zombies. You can upgrade your box, upgrade body armor, and your weapons.

I heard that Leon's credit box would be something like that in Code Veronica, except when collecting credits, it will, I guess, 3D print those items for you. But that is just pure speculation.

That is as far as I can go with this plot and gameplay. Since there are so many walkthroughs and lore, it's best to watch them, and those will help you understand the lore.

The bad guys are pretty good and are just there for that plot.

What could of Been RE9

From what others said, that re9 could have been an open-world game or a two-player game. Instead, it just became the classic survival horror story that everyone loves.

There is a mod where you can remove the grace running away from the big monster and the grace child care center, lol.

Sadly, as of right now, REFramework is not working with the current RE9 update.

My only problem is that it leaves us with more questions than answers. You can read the Grace Report, and that will tell you most of the story. Fingers crossed that the DLC will be here very soon this year.

Conclusion

Overall, the game is good and worth 69.99. Technically, I paid 34 bucks, and the rest I used whatever was left on a Mastercard prepaid gift card, haha.

We just need to wait for the DLC to come soon and a NG+ update

As I said, you could also just watch walkthroughs and read players' reactions and speculation, and just wait for a Humble Bundle or a Steam Sale.
