#ComputerVideogamesMisc

According to Lenovo and numerous computer sellers, the RAM crisis and associated deals are expected to last until late 2027 or 2028. By 2030, the three major RAM manufacturers will be able to triple their production capacity. It has been reported that machine makers are building additional "cookie" machines until they reach full capacity.

For the time being, purchasing a computer will be expensive, especially as AI data centers consume significant resources.

Currently, the entry-level Steam machine is priced at $1,100 and features AMD 6 core and a AMD GPU with 8GB of VRAM, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD.

And… oof, benchmarks for the machine are not looking good for 1050 bucks. I wouldn't degrade my RTX 3060 Ti over this for FFXIV.

However, the good thing is that SteamOS is here!!! Sadly, you must have an AMD GPU on Hand. Thankfully, Valve will try to get more support from Nvidia and Intel ARCS.

I am not sure, but it may be the only gaming OS compared to all that you could lock down the framerate through 40FPS-45FPS, something you cannot do on the consoles from Microsoft XGreed, Sony PS Greed, and Nintendon't.

Many gamers feel that games are losing their appeal, not because of graphics quality—since advancements have been impressive—but due to a lack of engaging storylines and gameplay. AAA companies seem oblivious to this and continue to rely heavily on Unreal Engine, whatever version it is at this point.

Its not about Graphics anymore

The creator of BioShock remarked, “It's expensive, and it doesn't age well.” He went on to say that the graphics in BioShock 2 still look better than many newer games, while BioShock Infinite continues to impress me visually when ever I boot the game.

A locked down Digital Console Future in 2028

Microsoft is navigating a challenging phase, having struggled to establish a clear direction since 2001. This uncertainty is one reason why platforms like Linux and SteamOS are gaining ground.

Sony emphasizes online gaming, but many players are growing tired of that model.

Sadly, on July 1st 2026, PS6 will cease to be available on Blu-ray disc, meaning all games will be available only digitally. The funny Part is that they are also going to close the PS4 and PS Vita for their online stores lol. Why? Though that's a stupid thing. FFXIV works well on PS4, but why take that down as well?

It's simple, very simple, Greed!!!!

PS6 is gonna be in a landfill somewhere in New Mexico lol..

As for Nintendo, same old, same old.

The gaming industry seems embroiled in a competition marked by backstabbing of their own peers and among its player base. In contrast, the major players, with little genuine camaraderie, have a shared interest in AI and minimizing labor costs as much as possible.

The real winners are the developers who put in hard work and publish their games on platforms like Steam, GOG, or even somewhere on the net.

Get a Job!!!!! And Save??

data centers need skilled workers, signaling a promising future for trades such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work.

I've been following Mike Rowe, known as the "Dirty Jobs Guy," and he emphasizes that AI won't replace these roles. I often see ads suggesting that learning a trade can lead to lucrative opportunities. Four years ago, I was encouraged to pursue a career as an electrician, given the growing demand in the field. Truthfully, I'm not sure if that’s the path I want to take. It might not suit you, either!

The earnings can range from $50,000 to $200,000 a year, which is an attractive prospect with good benefits for the future. I find myself pondering why more people aren't pursuing these trades.

There are a few reasons for this: some people simply don't enjoy the work, others are intimidated, and some may be physically unable to lift heavy loads.

As the saying goes, "Get a job and keep working; it will help you afford your needs."

However, it's not quite possible, so just don't give up.

Computers wasn't always about gaming

In the early days, computers were primarily tools for the military and government forces. Likewise, the internet began as a communication network connecting the East and West Coasts.

And yes, it's also about helping people through Health and Science.

However, the likes of Facebook, Twiter/X and PayPal were made by wealthy individuals, largely to control the narrative and their people.
By spying, knowing your information, and feeding you all this crap through their algorithm unless you look up the 18+ content, wink wink.

Despite this, these platforms do allow people to earn substantial income.

An Alternative Technology

In my view, computers are no longer the focal point of intriguing discussions. Nor is it a cool thing.

The only interesting developments at this year's CES centered around the renewable energy market. From SSDs to sodium-iron phosphate batteries, costs are expected to drop as production ramps up in the coming years.

There's also exciting potential in building DIY solar vehicles, which are neither made in China nor made by Tesla.

So easy that you can make it yourself.

Did you know that someone has created a solar-powered vehicle? It's quite awesome.

In the end, computers are no longer interesting enough unless you make money from them. And yes, it's not always about making money but having fun. But due to the economy, time is money, and Money is time.

As for RAM and storage costs, it remains uncertain whether they will remain high, even if production capacity increases significantly. We will have to wait until 2028 to see how this unfolds.

Gaming on the PC is more open unless your computer-illiterate parent in their late 30s-Early 40's, who for God's sake cannot figure out how to install Steam on a computer. Even though they live in the computer age in the mid-2000s.

Not gonna lie one time. I once heard a mom asking a GameStop clerk how to get Fortnite on her kids' PS4 lol.

I can't blame them lol, but you know kids these days "Even though I was once a kid-teen myself a long long time ago lol.." They are not as stupid as you may think they are in 2026. Not gonna lie, that's what I thought, but they are smart as well.

One Fun fact, by all means, this isn't being sexist at all, but idk maybe it's me in general, on whom I met, but not one girl is a gamer lol ha ha ha.

So yeah, I am just going to buy these SSDs until 2030. Maybe upgrade to 3Kwh of battery storage for my solar generator system.

Who knows!!!!
