OMG, what an eventful Berlin FanFest Keynote. First off, they showed the extended Teaser Trailer and added a new scene covering what the airships will look like. The areas in these airships are super huge, and I can't wait to explore them.
It then showed a character hanging from the edge of the airship. Many others believe this could be the Physical Range Job. We then cut through a battle where the New Tank Shield with cannon blasters is firing at the ice crystal grunts.
New Tank is called Bastion.
The New Jobs will only have the new evolved mode.
**Main Scenario, Field, and Game System Updates**
The game will feature a non-linear story path, now including a larger third path. Meaning you can choose AD or C, vice versa. The Story will not be affected even though you went in a different order.
To accommodate varying job levels due to different Main Scenario Quest (MSQ) completion orders, a new auto-content balancing system will adjust enemy health and damage based on party levels, while your level remains unchanged. Also, you can auto-mark where you are. It's like fast traveling without the cutscene or moving the mouse. It just does that for you.
Character action skins will enhance both general actions, like teleportation, and job-specific actions. General animations will be introduced in patch 8.0, with job action animation skins to follow in patch 8.1. Most of them will likely be given to us through rewards from completing raids or purchased with points.
Some may worry that these skins could be Mogstation-exclusive, requiring real money rather than in-game points.
8-man and 24 Man raids will have an Extreme mode, meaning that it's in between Normal and Savage. Not too easy and not too difficult. It also means that by completing Extreme mode, it will upgrade your gear completely.
The rewards will be referred to as "seasonal gear," which can be upgraded over time to enhance the gearing process.
Cross-region player matching and the party finder feature will launch in Japan on October 12th. Soon after that, North America, Europe, and China will add these features when they determine it is appropriate.
The Main theme for 8 Man Raid is FF7, called Beyond the Life Stream.
While on the subject of FF7 themes, they will also add an FF7 Keyboard game mode lol. They did show an FF7 Golden Saucer area, so not sure what that will mean. I thought it was gonna be a new redo over like it's gonna be just like FF7 one, but we will have to wait until then. The rewards for this Keyboard game mode will feature Barrett and Tifa with their attire as rewards. Maybe more rewards regarding FF7.
New gameplay added for chocobos through customizations, and finally adding your chocobos to the dungeon with another player for duty support. Meaning they can heal you and fight with you.
Ok, so those are the most important things being said, while the rest were just recaps from the NA FanFest. The Last one will reveal the full trailer and everything at the Tokyo FanFest on October 31 through November 1st
My actual Full thoughts are still regarding the mourning of lost souls, meaning whoever this NPC character that we saw could be related to Odin or something, where he could have lost his loved one and has to avenge her.
Like when in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, they invaded his world and destroyed his very own son.
While DawnTrail is about the golden city, it's also about seeing Lost souls one more time, just one more time. Evercold could be a mourning of a fallen Soul and will have to avenge them once and for all. The WOL are their saviors for this new expansion.
Regarding the Far wanudar and to whom they are? Maybe it's just US, an NPC related to Azem, or a group?.
Regarding this theme about the World Tree and that they live in the sky, it's nothing new since it's in the Korean manhwa pop culture world of fantasy.
You know what the title for Trail to the Heavens is such a marvellous way to say that we are going to the heavens above thanks to the Azem Key and that we are the ones going to save them.
I can't wait for part 2 to see how the finale will be for DawnTrail.
